Do you want to know the origin of Valentine's Day?
February 14th was designated a feast day in the Roman Catholic calendar in honour of a 3rd century Roman priest called Valentine. The Emperor at that time, Claudius II, prohibited marriage amongst his soldiers because he thought unmarried men made better soldiers. Valentine didn´t agree with him and he married couples in secret.
When the Emperor found out, Valentine was sent to prison. He fell in love with the jailer's daughter and just before he was executed, on 14th February, he wrote a message to her and signed it `From your Valentine´.

The new issue of the magazine  I LOVE ENGLISH  is in our library. Here you´ll find this Valentine's poem -often included in English Saint Valentine's cards-:

Roses are red
Violets are blue ...
Sugar is sweet
And so are you!

You´ll also find a very interesting report titled: "Young, Rich and Famous". Hurry up! Take your favourite magazine and begin reading!
